In the know about PAs

In the know about The American Academy of PAs

PAs are an increasingly influential and valuable audience for Healthcare Marketers as they provide you additional opportunities to drive home your messages.

Currently there are over 123,000 PAs actively involved in providing healthcare. Like physicians, PAs need to be kept up-to-date on pharmaceutical products and continuing education programs throughout their careers. With an ever-increasing demand for PAs, it’s not surprising that PA is a top profession according to Forbes and U.S. News & World Report, and a key target audience for recruitment offers.

About PAs

PAs are vital in leading patient-centered medical teams. They diagnose, treat, and prescribe medicine while working in collaboration with other healthcare team members.

There are over 123,000 certified PAs and students nationwide who have more than 400 million patient interactions per year. They diagnose illnesses, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal healthcare provider in every medical and surgical subspecialty from pediatric neurosurgery to oncology to primary care.

The AAPA is the national professional society for PAs. Their mission is to ensure professional growth, personal excellence, and recognition of PAs by advocating for all PAs and providing tools to improve PA practice and patient care.

PAs practice and prescribe medication in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and the uniformed services.

PAs must earn 100 CME credits every two years to maintain certification.

The PA profession tops the lists:
